April M. Coleman

April brings more than a decade of experience balancing litigation and negotiation to her clients. April’s goal is to make her clients feel valued and respected, informed about the court process, and to achieve the best possible outcome in their cases. April demystifies the court process for her clients and removes as much fear surrounding the legal process as possible. With a levelheaded demeanor, April seeks to minimize conflict in her clients’ cases. When collaboration fails, April is unafraid to utilize all available resources of the legal process, including in the courtroom.

After law school, April worked as an attorney in the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office for 11 and a half years. During her public defender career, April mentored law students and new attorneys, and held the role of County Court Supervisor for 5 years. April has gone to trial on dozens of cases, ranging from DUI to murder, and has supervised attorneys on countless more trials. In the courtroom, April has been described as unflappable.

In addition to developing peerless litigation skills, April honed her negotiation skills while resolving thousands of cases over the course of her career. April actively seeks to understand her clients’ goals in the case and prides herself on coming to creative resolutions that achieve those goals.

A third generation Coloradan, April received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Studies from the University of Denver. April graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2011. Outside of work, April enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as her extended family.
